Yesterday I was reminded of a trip we may to the Holy Land some years ago. It set me thinking about some of the divisions we saw but also some of the positives and I could not help but reflect that things have deteriorated since. This sent me back to some words I wrote in November 2022
Peace in this place (Psalm 122; 5 – 9. 1 Timothy 2 v 4)
- Pray for the peace of Jerusalem,
or whatever place you may call home;
Peace and security in that place,
for friends and relatives through God’s grace. - In house or other, village or town,
I pray that peace in there will be known.
For God’s desire for us all is good,
an evidence of his Fatherhood. - We look around and struggle to see,
evidence of peace and equity.
Peace for our house, town, country, or globe,
can sometimes appear beyond all hope - What can we do to bring about peace?
Prayer, I believe, can help to release
mercy and power that God will give,
as prayers are matched by the way we live. - .Pray for all those in authority,
that we know peace and dignity
in lives that are full of godliness,
as we live for Christ and Him confess.
