We start the month with All Saints’ Day followed by All Souls’ Day.
We move on this year to Remembrance Sunday on the 8th quickly followed by
Armistice Day on the 11th.
Meanwhile on the 2nd I remember the birthday of my late sister Rosalind (and her twin brother who celebrated on the 2nd).
Each of these provoke memories and one that has come back very clearly is the disaster at Aberfan on 21st October 1966. It is 60 years ago and I have been reminded that Ros wrote a very moving poem at the time. She would have been 16 closing in on 17 but the words show a maturity bey9nd her years.
The only copy that I can find of it at the moment is a jpg file from when I took a photo of it some time ago. I have attached and would suggest it is worth reading
