It must be almost 2 months since the preacher mentioned this in her sermon and my mind has been returning to it again and again. I have tried to capture some of my thoughts in writing and this morning and determined to do so.
Some big questions are raised
My thoughts went back to my old school blazer badge which feature the mythical Centaur, half horse and half man. Clearly not the same thing.

Is the idea Biblical. I believe that it is and there are many references I could quote but perhaps the most direct is in Philippians 2
Is it a ‘modern’ concept? No, the early creeds of the Christian Church affirmed it and continue to do so as they are used by Christians today, It may be worth taking a look at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypostatic_union
Can I explain it? No, it is one of those truths that need to be accepted by faith before it can make any sense to us.
Does it matter to us today?
• Yes, Jesus was fully man and experienced suffering, pain, bereavement, temptation and all the things humanity experiences, just as we do and more and so understands when we go through these things.
• Yes, Jesus was fully man but was able to resist all temptations giving us hope when we are tempted.
• Jesus was fully God and therefore God knows all that we go through.
What does it mean to us today?
God understands all that we go through.
We are fully human but not fully God.
But we can know God’s Spirit in our lives if we will allow Him in and open our lives to Him
We know that even then we will not always listen to the Spirit
But whenever we do, He is there to support and help us to live our lives the way He wants us to.
Is this Helpful?
I know that there are still a myriad of things still going around my mind but it has been helpful to try and capture some of my thoughts
